Ratooning and field maintenance has commenced at Sunbird Bioenergy Sierra Leone in preparation of the 2021 production season. More than 5,000 Ha of new sugarcane was planted in the 2019/20 season. Ratooning takes place within 10 days of harvest helps to obtain better establishment and uniform sprouting of shoots when the sugarcane regrows.
